“Karen’s lectures are motivating and present the students with numerous avenues for delving into further study. She is deeply dedicated to her work with piano students of all ages. Her method of teaching embraces the natural creative ability and unique quality of each student. Karen’s ease of compassion surrounds each individual with the freedom to experience the innate openness that allows the student to create music from the heart.”

“Ms. Polimeni views her students to be more than people who want to play the piano, but potential musicians who have the creativity to change music as we know it. After memorable lessons and countless over the phone help, I am a composer of beautiful music that expresses who I am. I play any music that my ear so desires, and my performance is something Beethoven would be jealous of! Ms. Polimeni works with all of her students diligently and listens to what they want and need. We have a vision and she helps us create it into an impressive performance. I’ve been in the presence of other students and witnessed the glow in their faces as they play pieces and improvisations with great confidence and energy. We all have a musical talent , and because of Ms. Polimeni, it is a talent that we love to show off.”

“Karen Polimeni exudes a love for music and creativity. Karen has taught piano to all three of my children from 1999 until the present. She started with each of them at the age of five. Although he no longer studies piano, my oldest is now 17 years old and an accomplished electric bass guitarist. My 15 year old daughter still enjoys playing the piano although she stopped taking lessons with Karen 4 years ago. Karen encouraged her love of music in all of its forms and my daughter chose to pursue voice and participated in her school chorus throughout Middle School. My youngest, who is 8 and on the autistic spectrum, loves to go to his piano lesson on Saturday morning and truly enjoys practicing. Karen encourages each student at their level and nurtures their innate sense of creativity. We have been blessed to have Karen Polimeni open us up to the amazing world of music and creativity that exists in each and everyone of us.”

“I have been studying with Karen Polimeni for eight years and my skills in piano have improved immensely. I am able to compose my own music and I have learned to sight read all types of music. I have also learned that when I am stressed out I can always look toward music to help me relax. I look forward to creating and playing music – it is has been so rewarding to me.”

Karen Polimeni has created a musical learning environment for children and adults that stretches beyond the traditional music school. Mrs. Polimeni emphasizes a solid musical foundation from which individual expression can flow. Form follows function in her uniquely tailored one-on-one lessons that include everything from learning scales and chords, to sight-reading, embracing complex arrangements, improvisation, singing, toning and even drumming, In a safe, nurturing environment, students are encouraged to take risks as they find their musical voice and trust their unique expression. With this approach, students recognize and own their creative abilities thereby releasing their potentiality into the world. Mrs. Polimeni communicates her understanding that we live in a vibratory world and that children are particularly attuned to mastering the language of music at early ages.
Mrs. Polimeni provided my two sons [ who began studying at ages and 3 and 6 ] with potent musical foundations over six + years. One son discovered the cello while studying the piano and continued his musical career into high school with a select male choir. He hopes to continue singing while at college. My other son found his rhythm and his voice with Mrs. Polimeni and, although he stayed in the percussion family, he gravitated to the drums in middle and high school. The gift that Mrs. Polimeni bestowed on our family is a life-long love of music as an expression of the highest ideals. We truly are grateful for her sharing of her skill, talents, wisdom and guidance.
